Sex Offender Registries Hugely Inflating the Actual Risks
So you know those websites you can go to that will tell u how many sex offenders are in your area and where they live?
Pretty much worthless.
A survey of 5 states showed that counts were inflated by anywhere from 25 to 60 percent! With people being listed who were no longer in the state even, or dead.
Even worse since very state has it’s own laws there’s no consistancy as to the level of risk for the sex offenders that are being listed.
Just more fuel for the panic then.
